The reason why I chose this moment in my life is because it was a very hard, dramatic and a sad moment in my life. It was important for me because these were my last memories of seeing my Nana before she died.  Some steps that I took to develop my ideas during the making of the web comic were thoroughly playing out what would go on my draft, what emotions would go on my face, my brother's face and what's going on in the background. Those steps helped me build more ideas ultimately making each panel more detailed in not just words, but pictures, colors and expressions. Some specific visual and writing decisions that I would do when making the web comic were adding no words in some panels to symbolize sadness or confusion or I would shade the colors lighter to make everything a little more faint to symbolize fear or any type of shocked emotions. How I balanced both words and images is by adding sad text during more melancholy moments and I added joyful and excited text for more happy moments. How my web comic memoir is inspired by Persepolis is because there were several moments when Marji had to mentally grow up. During the day that my Nana died I had to mentally grow up and realize that the world isn’t just butterflies and rainbows, the world can be unforgiving and scary, just like in Persepolis.
