My Art Process
Kennedy Costa

The reason I picked the “how i draw webcomic” is because I always love sharing how I draw, and what I've learned as a growing artist! I’ve evolved as an artist since the drawing I showed in the webcomic, but I'm glad I got to show my art process, and what I love. It was really hard for me to pick a webcomic topic, because I have a lot of memories that I love. My first webcomic idea was a memory, but I was having a hard time portraying the memory and story. So I decided for my webcomic I would show how I draw. So, I made a sketch for the webcomic and then rendered it. I always hope I inspire a few people!
The visual I used was of my favorite OC (original character). The reason I chose to draw him for the webcomic is he has a very colorful, colorscheme. That made it easier to write about why I picked his colors, and how they contrast in the drawing even when there's not much emotion or tone. Because it was a quick drawing, his facial expression isn't the most well thought out, but I think it represents his character. A lot of the writing I did was on how I start a base of my character, and then move on from base to a colorscheme. I made sure that what i was writing was accurate to how i draw, and what i’ve learned about colors, so his main color scheme is orange and green, and i write about how i picked these colors for his character, and how they contrast together. but I didn’t really base my webcomic off of any themes from Persepolis, because I couldn't figure anything out! And I didn’t use AI, i don't believe in using AI, my webcomic is my own, and I prefer human art and work.
