My webcomic memoir was about my move to Ireland during the covid-19 pandemic. It was a huge move in my life that affected who I am as a person today. My webcomic was similar to Persepolis, in the fact that a big event happened in my life, it shows my nervousness to try something new, and the eventual conclusion of me sitting with some kids at lunch. These people are some of my best friends today. Covid-19 was also apparent at the time, which was a massive event in the world.

My process consisted of sketching, then outlining, as well as writing dialogue. I knew I was going to do this story from the start, as this was the most prominent event in my life, it’s shaped my view of life, and given me an outlook I may not have had if I never moved to Ireland.

I emphasized detail through facial expression and posture, I emphasized feelings of longing and sadness. I used my final panel to express how I overcame my challenge and ultimately enjoyed my time living in a new place.

The text is my honest internal and external dialogue, showcasing how I felt. I used images, text, and detail all to show my feelings of journeying to a new place.
