I believe that working together through hard things with friends makes those bonds so much stronger.

Milan Trabin

I believe that working together through hard things with friends makes those bonds so much stronger.

One example of bonds getting stronger through struggles is when me and my friends were taking a peaceful walk around old town,Pasadena with our apple watches when we decided to go to Target. There was only one problem. We did not really know where Target was. 10 minutes later we were completely lost, two of our watches died and one was really low so we were in a pretty bad situation. Then one of my friends had an idea even though he had barely any battery left he decided to call his mom to coordinate everything but sadly the phone lost battery mid way through the call. So we started brainstorming ideas of what to do when something popped into my mind. I said ‘lets just wait here and they should be able to track us’ and so we waited and waited until finally we got saved. We all laughed about it after but after that we hung out more and more and became really close friends. After this incident we didn't just talk about nonsense we talked about real stuff like feelings. This made me feel so much more connected with those friends and I saw what friendships can really be.

Friendships that have stronger bonds means that you have loyal friends that have your back whenever you need it. This is incredible because if you need help with almost anything your friend will support and also vice versa. If both people have each other's backs it's better for both people.

I have another story and this one really talks about the golden rule. One day when I was in 4th grade I didn't get the math that was going on and I had homework for that so I called my friend I've had since preschool and asked him to help me with the math problem. Without a second thought he was giving me a full on lecture about how to do my math. After about 45 minutes of working towards making me understand the math I finally got it and I was thrilled about finally getting it. The next day at school the same friend lost his water bottle on the playground so I instantly started to help him find his water bottle. After looking we still couldn’t find the water bottle so we gave up, but eventually we found the water bottle it was in the lost and found bin at the bottom of it. Anyway that's not the moral of the story, the moral is that good bonds lead to someone that has your back no matter what and I don't know about you but I want a friend like that.

A real friend is someone who is helpful, kind, supportive and loyal. If everyone tries to be a little more like this friend the world would be a much better place for everyone.

Writer's Statement

In My ‘this I believe’ essay I wrote about how working together through struggles with friends makes those bonds so much stronger.

I talked about how bonds get so much stronger through challenges for a few reasons and I'd love to share them with you. The first reason is that this mindset has gotten me lifelong friends that feel really close and connected to me. These friends are so nice and they are always there for me. The second reason is that one of my best friends that I had bonded with sadly moved away but I am still connected with him and that bond is definitely for life. My third and final reason that I wrote about this is so that you can take this into consideration and make unbreakable bonds that last a lifetime.
