Knowledge Is Limited Imagination Is Endless

Leo Russell

“Knowlege is limited and imagination is endless” is a quote I didn't learn from a news article or a book in a library. I learned it from the front lines of my experiences from my elementary school. Most of the time I was there I felt contained. not in a cage or a room but in a factory learning what people wanted me to learn their way. Because of that I was never good at assignments or worksheets. I felt like there was no free form creativity making the assignments rather watered down and dry at the same time.

The times I felt the most free was in art. This was mainly because there were no rules and unlike most of my classes everyone's work looked different. My art teacher was amazing because she actually noticed that the school was like the way I imagined it. It was like telepathy that was another reason why I believed that imagination has no limits.

Intelligence is still important, don’t get me wrong, but the way it comes across is the way it should be taught because the brain does not work like a conveyor belt or a machine; it cannot be standardized or controlled. Even though I struggled academically tremendously, lacking intelligence does not mean you are “dumb.”
In conclusion, knowledge is often treated as the most important sign of intelligence. It's graded and tested; however, knowledge is only built of what people already know. With imagination, there is no limit or border, and it is what innovates people to go above and beyond from my perspective of the world.
