I believe that nothing is predetermined, and that there is no fate. I believe this because there is no proof of it, and if nobody has ever found evidence of fate, and there is no way to recognize it, so why should we believe that it exists? In my opinion it probably does not.

I realized this at the beginning of sixth grade when my teacher told me with complete confidence that my handwriting would become less messy by the end of the year. He said he was one hundred percent sure, however he was wrong, and my handwriting was the same at the end of the year as it was at the beginning.
Besides, the idea that all things are predetermined does not make sense. Who or what would determine these events? With modern science, why can't we figure out if anything is ‘fated to happen’?

The idea of ‘fate’ or ‘destiny’ has been around a long time, at least since the 8th century BC, but in my opinion, it is just something that people with regrets use to excuse their failure, or ill deeds. And besides, if we can't control our future actions, then what's the point of trying to be a good person, if your character isn't actually up to you?

Not believing in actions being predetermined is actually quite liberating, you know that your future is up to you, that you can do what you please, and that anything you don't like you can change. However it does force you to believe that your bad deeds and actions are completely your fault, and only you can change that.

But not believing in destiny can make you happier! You will feel more free, and able to do what you please, as well as unique and special. You will feel that you are truly you, and that there is no one else like you in the whole world.

Ultimately the personal freedom here is my true reason for not believing in fate, and I believe
that if you don't believe in it either, you will be and feel much more free.
