The Unwanteds follows Alex who lives in the country of Quill, which is grey. What I mean by that is that there is no art of any kind allowed, no music playing, and as little plants as possible throughout the city. Whenever a kid does some kind of art before they turn 13, they become Unwanted and are killed for their 'Art Crimes,' whatever they are. Or that is what the nation of Quill thought happened to them... Soon Alex uncovers a world of magic and a lot of people like him, where art is encouraged and the people all have a lot more freedom.
This is a really fun book that I recommend to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy book. By the way, this is a series of 7 books, so if you are interested, keep reading!
