For my choice book I read Scythe the story follows two characters named Citra Terranova and Rowan Damisch. In this world humanity has beaten death and cured all diseases thanks to the thunderhead, an artificial intelligence that has governed the world ever since the scythes dismantled the governments but since everyone is immortal now they have to keep the population under control by have people called scythes who kill people in an act called gleaning. Citra and Rowan become apprentices to a scythe named Scythe Faraday after Michael Faraday and have to leave their old lives behind and learn the art of killing while also having to deal with their feelings for each other not getting in the way of their apprenticeships all the while corrupt scythes try to pit them against each other so only one will become a scythe. Citra and Rowan learn that being a scythe is not all about killing, it's also about politics and and being powerful

I Loved this book and i really recommend it to anyone who likes futuristic science fiction or dystopian books the story is very interesting and it gives you an idea of what the world would be like if we beat death the conflicts in the book are also really good and made me sit on the edge of my seat while reading it
