Fantastic Mr. Fox
For my choice book, I read Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. This book is written for younger kids, so it only took me a couple days to finish, but this is one of my favorite movies so that's why I decided to read it. Fantastic Mr. Fox follows Mr. Fox and his family and their life in the late 60’s in the English countryside. Mr Fox steals birds for a living, and he basically robs 3 farmers to feed his family. The farmers catch him and ruin his home, forcing him and his neighbors and family to dig tunnels underneath their house. Some common themes in the book are community and connection, as well as perseverance. The message of this book to me is that failure is ok, and there can be positive outcomes and just general positivity, even when it's unexpected. I recommend this book as a light-hearted short read and I think it’s well worth reading for all audiences. I really enjoyed it, and I think it's a beautifully written classic.
